I work as a tour guide in Alaska for about ten weeks every summer. Every day, all day, with no planned weekends, this little tool trains to keep four rods tied and fish mainly with novice fishermen. This is my favorite new instrument of the year. Cuts precisely and cleanly, spectra and mono. I clip it to my waist so it's always handy. With the retractable leash I can just drop it and it will fall back into place until I need it again. I always put my old boats in their place, but rushing happens, I don't, and I have to look around the boat when I've got my hands full. So I love this tool. The only drawback: Around the middle of the season, it no longer retracted completely and the cutting jaws did not open. I sprayed some heavy duty grease on it (NOT WD40, never use WD40 on a boat or in salt water!) and overnight it worked again for the rest of the season. I don't think they were made for professional use. Next year I'll take two or three to help!
