Review on πŸ’Ό CUIUIC Portable Monitor: The Ultimate Travel Companion with Ultrawide Screen and HD Clarity by Aaron Valdivia

Quality monitor with an all-metal body and many functions

This 15.6-inch portable travel monitor is packed with features. This is a 1080p IPS panel in a metal case with built-in speakers. On the right is a USB 3 port along with a power button and menu, while on the left is a full-size HDMI port, a USB-C port, a second USB-C port for power delivery and an AUX port for connecting headphones. it, but it looks like quality. The metal body is smooth and sleek. The bezels are enough for me to swipe 1/3 to 1/2 of my finger without touching the screen. The bottom 1/4 or so is a bit thicker than the rest of the panel as this part houses the ports, speakers and also a built in stand. Accessories include an optional external adjustable stand which also gives you more space in an extra thin fabric case , power adapter, USB-A to USB-C cable, USB-C to USB-C cable and HDMI cable. Nitor screams quality, accessories don't. The sleeve is very thin and with minimal lining. None of the cables are gold plated. However, the power supply looks good as it is clean, slim and large. In Use: I connected this portable monitor to a mini PC I just bought. So far it's been great. Picture quality is clean and crisp, and color reproduction looks accurate compared to my 27-inch LG 4K monitor. Brightness and contrast are good. You can set some options in the menu. Video plays great, and the built-in speakers are more than adequate. It also supports Radeon Freesync, which is very handy since my mini PC is a Ryzen 5560U with integrated graphics, but due to the left-side inputs the monitor should ideally be placed either directly in front of or to the right of the monitor. output device. I originally wanted to test it as a fourth monitor for my main tower, but I have it on the right side so cable management became an issue since the monitor's inputs are on the left. A small issue, but something to consider. Overall I think this monitor is great. It looks good, feels premium, and has many built-in features, including speakers. It will definitely become my go-to portable monitor for my mini pc. It should be noted that I believe Monit has problems receiving converted DP 1.4 signals and possibly even HDMI 2.1 signals. I recently got a DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter for my 5700XT, plugged it in, used a proven quality HDMI cable and hooked it up to this monitor. My desktop appeared briefly for 1-2 seconds and then went black. Not completely black, like when the screen is off, but faint, like static black, to indicate the monitor is still on but no image is showing. I switched to my HDMI port from 5700XT using the same cable, everything worked fine. I used an older DP 1.2 HDMI 2.0 cable and it worked fine too. I've used the adapter on other HDMI monitors and they all worked fine. Specifically, it was a combination of DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter + HDMI cable + this monitor = image errors. Every other combination I've used has worked great for this monitor. I don't have any other DP 1.4 or HDMI 2.1 adapters or devices so I can't say for sure, but this monitor has an issue.
