After reading other reviews on this and other similar products I was fully prepared that this thing would try to kill me on first use. Now I'm sure you can actually injure yourself if used incorrectly or without the proper protective gear. However, I found this tool to be quite simple and easy to use, and it cuts really well. My project was to take out a 1/2 inch arch in a large planter box made out of 6x6 PT bars so I could slide it against something that requires a flat surface. Usage Tip: Use the right side of the blade to cut through the material and use the front of the blade while retracting to cut. Use a guard and don't lay the blade flat on the surface you intend to cut. Have a good grip and a stable footing. It's actually pretty simple. The second blade in the kit was fantastic. The blade is easy to sharpen with a standard chainsaw sharpener. and easy to handle.
