Review on ACDelco D1493F Original Equipment Ignition by Thomas Chalecki

This ACDelco D1493F part contains 2 parts needed to completely replace the ignition switch and cylinder. I hope this can solve my Pontiac Grand AM warning light issue! The security light is on. About 4 years ago the dealer charged me $425 to fix it once. Now the light is on again. Everything you need to code this ignition lock with your key is included. I coded it in about an hour while teaching my son how to do it. Car keys are not included. There are many lock pins, springs, and lubes to collect and adapt to your current key. DIY and save $$ or take this kit to a locksmith. It is recommended to use tweezers to install the pen. Also included in this item is the "cylinder" or the part that contains the ignition switch. This cylinder contains the PassKey resistance chip. I made the mistake of ordering a lock cylinder (Dorman 924-702) partly because I didn't pay attention to the picture of that part. I understand that there is no cylinder. Wrong, the cylinder comes with ACDelco. The 924-702 cylinder part looked exactly like the ACDelco part, but had to send it back because I didn't need 2 of them. It was my mistake when ordering. I hooked up this ACDelco D1493F to an ACDelco D1432D for an ignition overhaul. Hey, if I'm around to replace other parts, I'll do that too. Still cheaper than a dealer replacement.
