We've been buying Maglites since they've been a staple on law enforcement's duty belts. I have several Maglite flashlights in my arsenal. Aside from the obvious uses, a version of the 4D Cell is kept in my truck under the seat for use in roadside emergencies and even for protection from people - a good 'knock' to the head with this flashlight works wonders for a troubled person. It's also good for removing a crazy driver's side mirror, which will later help identify his car when they cause damage or hurt others. Maglite owners have for years impressed themselves and others with how far a beam of light travels on a foggy morning or night, a testament to its durability and functionality. We strongly recommend you to buy it for yourself. UPDATE: When you shone a flashlight on a ceiling fan in a dark room last night, the button cover popped out when you turned on the light. I'm amazed and extremely disappointed after all the past decades of owning Maglites, but that didn't happen. As the packaging has been thrown away I need to see how I can return it or exchange it for a new one.
