The rotating bit holder is ideal for getting around small obstacles (shelf brackets, etc.) that just don't allow you to get direct access to the screw. said that this bit holder is practically useless without modification. A metallic retaining ring/clip ("Hog Ring") inside prevents changing screwdriver bits without pliers or the like, which contradicts the whole concept of quick-change screwdriver bits. I had to work hard to get this retaining ring/clip off, but it eventually came out. Luckily now this thing behaves like a regular magnetic bit holder. The magnet is strong so the bits won't fall out, but they can be easily swapped out without additional tools. Slide the black metal sleeve all the way back to lock the holder straight, or forward to allow it to rotate around obstacles. If necessary, fix the holder by holding the sleeve (the sleeve rotates freely). Magnetized bits (you can buy a tool to magnetize screwdrivers etc.) hold the screws on the bits. The overall flexibility is hard to beat.
