Easy to install if you are tall

These parts are a great solution to prevent heat loss from unsealed recessed lighting. must have sufficient beam depth over the banks. In my case, I had 18" joists and was replacing an entire drywall ceiling that had been damaged by a leaking roof. These lightweight lids meant I didn't have to replace half a dozen Halo cans. to reattach a tight, well-insulated ceiling. These lids are surprisingly easy to put on. They can be severely deformed to crush in tight spaces and still rely on rebounding to encircle a jar - almost like a thick fedora. The lids are very hard to install. torn but easily accessible for the necessary incision or cut with a sharp knife. Aside from the need to have enough space above the jars for the lids, there are a few action caveats that might interest you: 1. These lids retain heat, so forego incandescent bulbs in favor of CFLs or LEDs or you risk breaking the wiring to melt in the glass.2. Wear safety goggles, preferably goggles. While insulation is never fun to work with, these things seem to kick off fine dust, which is particularly annoying on the eyes. It hit my normal glasses. Everything went smoothly once I washed my eyes and put on goggles with good side protection.3. Oh yes, each cap comes in its own plastic bag. The bags are a good size for junk, but they have vents that can be annoying leaks for things like sawdust and plaster dust. (Hey, these cases are so good, even the most trivial "negative" pulls me in.) All in all, this is a wonderful, well-designed product. Wiencke win
