I used to change batteries on previous generation controllers every week so when I saw that they were on sale I thought so. The box arrived a bit crumpled, but inside the box is a docking station and components, neatly stored in their own plastic stand for protection. The first thing I noticed upon unpacking the box was that the dock itself was flimsy and wobbly. I did not expect this. After playing around with it, I noticed that the top part kind of "clicks" when you place the controller on it. I didn't understand why they chose this style but that's ok. The battery pack fits snugly into the battery compartment of the controller. There are two battery baseplates, one for Xbox One controllers and one for Xbox Series controllers. Neither of them was indistinguishable from the other, save for a slight difference in the pattern on the back; but they are not the same. Trial and error is required to install the disk on the appropriate controller. I ordered a black stand and both plates were black. It comes with a micro USB charging cable but no socket for the USB adapter so I used an old iPhone connector I had lying around. I've only used it for a few days. So I can't say anything about the longevity of the battery until it's replaced. I would say charge 24-30 hours. Not bad if you want to return the controller to the dock after each use. I would recommend this to anyone who plays regularly and is tired of changing batteries.
