The light output is very very weak, even in my 5 gallon aquarium this 20 gallon light makes it it somehow darker, the lighter. Compared to the standard lamp on the lid, it only seems to work at night, even at maximum brightness. The description says this lamp is 15 inches long, but it is actually only 10 inches long. Even if it were 15 inches, I'm not sure if it would be bright enough. Maybe a bad LED batch? The controller is fine, but that wasn't thought through either. It switches from black to "light", which startles the fish, rather than reverting to intermediate modes on its way to "daylight".
