Review on COMP Cams K23 223 4 Camshaft XE268H 10 by Tom Schuster

I reviewed this kit on the COMP website before ordering it from Revain. It arrived new and exactly as described BUT the timing chain kit (cam sprocket to be exact) that came with it does NOT fit the 289. The 289 uses a different type of fuel pump cam (one piece) than the 302 (two piece). .) So the timing is correct only for a 1967 or later model 302 and not for a 1966 or earlier model 289/260/221 due to a serious offset problem. This is NOT Revain's fault and COMP Cams told me this has happened before and they are trying to fix it. If you have an early (pre 67) engine just call COMP and they will change the set time to the correct one, but you will have to pay for easy shipping back to Memphis. Aside from that, it's a perfect upgrade over the stock Ford camshaft, has smoother idling, better economy (we got 5mpg more) and delivers a very satisfying torque and power increase that a calibrated "rear dyno" senses can.
