I paid for it. While they add a bit of weight, they offer a ton of comfort. Less vibration from the road and a softer ride. It's also pre-cut and pre-formed, but that doesn't mean you can't cut it. You can trim it however you want it to fit. I bought several for my many bikes. It's not cheap material and quality material and I've been able to reuse it when I've rewound my rods. It has a tacky stickiness, leaving no residue or stickiness. It is completely reusable. I hope to buy more for my other bikes and let my friends know.
