Great comfort on long rides without adding bulk

My bullhorn handlebars are flimsy and can hurt my wrists after a long ride. I decided to combine them with soft cork ribbon. If you wrap them tightly and properly, they will feel great! I love that they offer different cuts for every riding style. Will keep two Straight Drip Gels on my other bike for when I need to rewind anytime soon.

Easy to install on the bike

This is a post-installation rating. If my opinion changes after a few miles I will update it. I had no trouble attaching gel pads. Before removing the backing paper I cut them the way I wanted. I then placed them on the steering wheel and was able to change their position. You have to be careful when flipping the sticks to keep the edges flat. never mind When they were done they looked great. The time will show.

Easy to use and economical

Recently updated contact points for my bike and wanted gel pads as I have gained weight and my wrists were sore. These pads are quite thick, but do what they are supposed to do. have to do. They add volume to your handlebars so your grip style may need to be adjusted, but that's natural. The glue on them is nice sticky stuff to move around during installation, and they can (and should) be trimmed with scissors to fit your bars perfectly.

  • New
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

No more pain! Good product!

I was skeptical about how well they would work but trusted the reviews that they would relieve the pain in my hands from road biking. boy did they ever! I still have pain in my palms when driving, but not as bad as I used to. I shake my arms every five miles or so and I'm good to go. But the best improvement was after my trip - no pain! My palms used to hurt all day, but now they don't hurt at all. Good product! I definitely recommend it.

A little too soft for me

Packaged very well but slipped out of place the moment you opened the top flap. As this happened, he fell to the ground, picking up all the fluffy and dog hair nearby. boo but I have found that they feel more like a breast implant, although I was expecting them to be a bit firmer. Maybe they stiffen up somehow with the bar pad installed, but I don't know which bike I'll try them on because thick as they are, they feel too spongy to absorb shock as much as they do pressure for longer time…

Cozy! best in parts & components

I paid for it. While they add a bit of weight, they offer a ton of comfort. Less vibration from the road and a softer ride. It's also pre-cut and pre-formed, but that doesn't mean you can't cut it. You can trim it however you want it to fit. I bought several for my many bikes. It's not cheap material and quality material and I've been able to reuse it when I've rewound my rods. It has a tacky stickiness, leaving no residue or stickiness. It is completely reusable. I hope to buy more for my…

Parts, Sport Parts

These gel pads work as advertised. They will definitely pad your handlebars and are easy to install when you rewind the handlebars. Here are the caveats: You add a little weight to your bike. It's only a few ounces, but it's heavier than the band itself. If weight is more important to you than comfort, stay away. Also, hand numbness (which I sometimes experience on long rides) is often the result of improper bike setup, not handlebar softness. At the same time, I really like the feeling of the…

Look elsewhere for gel steering wheel pads!

I usually like Planet Bike products but this gel is terrible. It sticks to itself and deforms horribly when removed from the plastic backing. It's just too sticky. I have two bikes with Fi'zi:k Gel handlebars. They are much better because they don't warp when removed from the substrate and they don't stick to each other. Therefore, the pads fit correctly on the steering wheel. Now it's true that the Fi'zi:k pads don't cling to the handlebars like the Planet Bike pads do, but when the bar tape…

Smooth action for handlebars

Bought a few months ago after breaking my arm. I wanted to get on the bike as soon as the cast was off and knew I would need some softness for rough roads, even with 28mm tubeless tires at 70psi. The roads in California are rough. I wrapped them in Service Corse SRAM tape and really liked the feel. Gel pads are better than "soft" bands because the extra girth only appears where your arms are. comfortable at the top, small overall diameter. I was worried they would break and stick together under
