Review on AirCAT 5300-A: A High-Performance, Super Duty Air Hammer Kit With 1,760 BPM And 4 Chisels by Joe Medlin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Powerful & Excellent

This air hammer is in the "Big Nasty" category and as far as I can see it's an almost exact clone of a CP717 / Astro 4980--just look at the parts schematics and specs to see for yourself. When I bought this, it was the best value available to get this powerful 1/2" big-bore air hammer, a quick release chuck & some bits to get started. Really nothing to complain about at this price point. It's done everything I've asked of it with ease and I'm quick to recommend it. I haven't abused the bits enough to break one yet, but I will replace them with American ones when that eventually happens.

You dont have to buy the expensive CP717 or the Astro pneumatic with the cheap spring retainer. This is the real deal and comes with the bits. Make sure you loctite the allen bolts on the chuck- they will loosen. Ball joints, hub and bearings, torsion keys, rotors have no chance with tool. Make sure you keep it lubricated.
