I just received this universal wire stripper today. Went straight to the garage and found a piece of 12/2 romex. Peeled the sheath easily but I did need to flip it over to get it to completely. The 3 wires were in perfect shape with the paper untouched. Then I pull out the actual wires and stripped them. They were perfect. I love this tool! Wish I had an electrical job to do today.

This just does not work that well. They appear well constructed but for my first application with solid-core 12 AWG electrical wire with stiff insulation it just does not strip reliably. The two failure modes are basically cutting the insulation at the grippers instead of the cutter or not gripping it sufficiently well and it doesn't cut the insulation at all. Adjusting the tension, cause one or the other failure mode to be more prevalent. Occasionally it strips it correctly.I suspect this…

Very useful, especially when stripping wire in awkward places, like a short wire hanging from the ceiling. Note that it does not come with directions. I had to figure out for myself that the silver knob twists to increase tension on the grippers so that you can go from fat wires to thin ones. Until I figured that out, it didn't work at all because it wasn't grabbing the wire.

Great little wire stripper, cutter and crimper. Does it all. Should have bought this when they first came on the market.

Even though I don't need to strip wires very often, I did have a project that a good pair of wire strippers would be very handy. The first time I needed to prep a wire I was sold on these. I'm very happy with these and would recommend them.

I bought this because it seemed like a great idea, and then out of the blue I had an electrical repair on a senior recliner. Had a number of small wires to splice and it was a breeze. I was able to slice away several wires at the same time and it worked perfectly. It will be a nice addition to the toolbox.

These strippers work most of the time on most wire, however even on the same wire I get mixed results. The part that grips the insulation sometimes actually cuts the insulation instead of just holding it. Not a dealbreaker as it still strips the insulation, just not necessary a the length expected.

These strippers seem to be a good product. I’ve used them a couple of times now. I especially like their compact size, yet they’re not too small for my moderately large hands. The stripping gauge is very handy as well has the adjustable tension on the grabber jaw. I made adjustments with both and the jobs look great. These strippers did as good a job as my "major brand” strippers that were lost. I recommend them.

Working around the house and have to occasionally do some electrical work. I'm used to using a blade or pair of wire strippers to cut off the wiring insulation but was watching a YouTube video (LRN2DIY- credit where credit due) and saw this tool. Reminded me one my father used and it's awesome! Much easier to use and faster than the wire stripper (or blade) and the depth gauge is very helpful in getting uniform cuts.

If it had a hole so I could bend the terminal hook I could get by with just this and a screw driver to hook up outlets and such.I'll drill my own hole to bend the hooks.The jaws are almost wide enough to strip Romex. So far so good.Where can I get a new cutter knife?

Tool works great and with ease. My first venture with auto strippers.Compared to traditional method of stripping & sometimes struggling with a pliers style stripper these are a no brainer and work very well

Only reason for 4/5 on overall is the strip length adjustment does not securely lock in place. Otherwise, great product and would purchase again.

It works OK for most wiring projects. As some other reviewers pointed out, it doesn't work with smaller wires. I adjusted the tension as tight as I could get it, but it still doesn't strip 18 AWG solid wire very well. It stretches the jacket, but the jacket can break off anywhere, not just at the markers.

Tool was surprisingly easy to use, effective, smooth and quick.Did both sides of 16 gauge speaker at the same time-- no need to split it first.Felt well-made and solid.Performance is key and I'm glad I got it, rather than a simpler and cheaper replacement.

Use it frequently to strip wires accurately and without excessive waist. Only negative is the flimsy plastic length gauge.

I would be forever stripping wires of plastic coating to fix or create some light project. Wires kept getting shorter and shorter as I would of course cut right thru or hack half the wires off. not with this baby! Super easy to use and fast as heck!

A really cool gadget. It makes stripping wires effortless.There are really only two minor things I noticed as I used it. One, the mashing part for the connectors is right next to the cutter, and I have cut a couple of connectors in error. The other thing is the clear plastic guide to stop the wire. It should be a little bigger as the smaller wires can slip past it. On the whole, I am very pleased with the price and the performance.

I have never owned a wire stripper like this before, so I decided to try a pair. They are a big improvement over my old conventional Klein wire strippers. They will take a little getting used to but so far I like them.
