Although it's nice to have the flexibility of using this outdoors, I'm not sure the brightness level can light up a larger area that you may need for the outside. For inside, it works well to light up a section of wall, plant or other scenery. I just used this for a Thanksgiving party - lighting up the wall while syncing with music.You need to download the Onforu app to make this work (I have so many different Smart lights of different manufacturers, it's a real pain managing all of the apps each one uses). You can choose from different light patterns on the app or make your own custom one. Some can be linked with sound. The one negative thing I noticed is that in order to sync music/sounds, it uses your SMARTPHONE speaker with the app. It doesn't have its own microphone on the lights themselves which can be a big issue - if you walk out of the room, if you talk on the phone, or if you switch to a different app, you can disrupt the connection and the sound sync will no longer work.For 5 lights and potential capability, it's a real good value. If you need to use with sound sync - do it from a stationary smartphone or ipad or tablet. Works good but the implementation could be improved.
