Other light levels are useless to me; I always choose maximum whiteness. The desktop mount seemed good at first, but then I realized it needed a LOT of improvement. The little disc just popped out and I didn't even touch it! Then the fact that only the upper part is flat and the lower screw disk is so thin that you have to put something solid between the table and the table - for example a small block of wood. Too bad they didn't make the bottom the same as the top. Also, I really wish the glass was a bit bigger and there wasn't as much distortion with it. I remember my grandmother's 30 year old magnifying lamp being great compared to this thing. If I set it up "just right" it will work, but based on the materials and workmanship it should only cost between $15-$25, which in my experience is closer to $19.99. Definitely NOT worth the $46 price tag! I almost got it back but it stays where it is so hopefully I'll get my money back before it burns - if not I'm really pissed.
