I've read reviews that the cleats on the top don't fit some people but they fit me perfectly. There's a heat shield in there that gets in the way of the 3 nuts on the top, so I ended up cutting it off an inch or two and folding it to the side so I could access the nuts. FYI, the driver's side cat has brake lines making it difficult to get to the top nuts, thank goodness for my investment in ratcheting box wrenches! The passenger side is more open and doesn't interfere with the brake lines. At the bottom or rear end of the converter I bought some metric nuts and bolts to attach to the rest of the exhaust pipe. FYI it definitely helps to loosen or remove the next set of bolts holding the next part of the exhaust (I think it's the rear catalytic converter). This creates the necessary space to remove the old catalytic converter and install the new one more easily. I had to do the exact same thing on the passenger side when replacing this catalytic converter. I believe my computer codes might be p0430 for this and p0420 for the passenger side cat. I've got about 294,000 miles on my Xterra so they should probably definitely be done by now. Took me about 4-5 hours per side mainly due to hard to find nuts/bolts or stubborn rusty bolts that needed cutting and trips to the store for new nuts and bolts. I'm glad they were a lot cheaper than auto parts stores and I saved a lot of money doing it myself. I called the store and they wanted about $1,000 for each side and labor. So I'm definitely glad I did it all myself and saved all the money, even though it was agony!
