Received them just in time about a week ago. After unpacking, I checked them carefully for defects and found none. The stitching and overall craftsmanship is on par with any high quality boot I have (and I have no others). I then put them on to make sure they fit and walked around the room. Absolutely perfect fit with no breakage. The cushioned insole was as comfortable as my USMC 1st Edition Belleville Hot Weather Combat Boots, which feel like you're walking on foam pads. Better yet, these bundokers feel like they weigh half as much. They even weigh less than my Chippewa Trench Boots which are just a boot option. With temperatures topping 100 degrees this summer in Texas, losing weight at the end of the day makes a world of difference. I had some reservations about walking through thornbushes in a low cap during snake season, but in the end I decided I just had to watch my step. Since most of the Banana War Marines walked around Nicaragua in these boots and half the Carlson Raiders preferred them to the new trendy canvas jungle boots, they must have something of value. I've been looking at and comparing these Golden Fox Bondockers for over a year. to all reproduction competitors before I justify buying another pair of boots that I probably don't really need. The decision was made much easier by the insane prices others were charging; Some cost up to $680 due to some finicky details making them museum quality replicas. Get real people! In fact, they are mass-produced worker boots that were worn by almost all the men in my family even before the Mexican punitive expedition. A field hiking shoe, a peasant shoe, the same. They were never intended for high society ballroom dancing, so why are they so expensive? Kudos to Golden Fox for making a practical quality product that we dirt jumpers can afford. As far as assembly in China goes, you're unlikely to find anything that doesn't exist these days. Given the quality materials that can be worked with, Chinese craftsmanship is unmatched in any other country. And since every piece of skin goes to China as soon as it leaves a cow in Texas, I think that's the answer to that question. I'm very happy with my Golden Fox Bundokers at the moment and hope to stay that way for a long time to come. And when I finally get them in rags, I'll replace them with three more pairs for less than the others charge for one. David Campbell L/Cpl USMC (Retired) LOL!
