Having just needed an antibiotic for a pesky infection, and being scheduled to be outdoors from noon on daily, I needed a hat that would provide ultimate sun shading. This hat did the trick admirably. I am protected from the sun's rays from shoulder to shoulder. It breathes well and firs me fine and my head is not diminutive. The drawstring works well. It does have strong snaps to fold up the brim on one or both sides if you want versatility. It does take some time to not be startled when you bump into things because the brim is very wide but you will adjust. Highly recommended. I purchased the beige color. for a cooler temp and not showing dirt as easily as I garden all the time. Now, I feel naked, at least my head does, if I am in the sun and not wearing the hat. Thumb your nose at Mr. Sun!
