It was difficult for me to decide if this is a four or five star player but one annoying thing prevents it from being a five star player is. I want to say right away that I don't use this for streaming. I have a Smart TV in the living room and a Fire Stick in the bedroom where I use this player. So I have streaming and am not evaluating these features. I only use it for discs. On the other hand, I haven't found a disc yet that this player won't play. I have some DVDs I got from Malaysia (something that isn't available in the US) that won't play on two other Blu-Ray players or a regular DVD player, but this player plays them like one champion off. So yes, very happy with the rendering. Both picture and sound are good. However, this thing has an annoying quality. Sometimes it skips the FBI warning etc. and the menu and jumps straight to playing the first track. It's fine when I'm watching a movie, but I have a lot of TV shows on DVD and Blu-Ray and it's annoying to skip the part where I choose which episode to watch. I've seen this feature on players in the past, but usually there's an option in the settings to turn it off, but I can't find it for this player. Also, it's weird because the player doesn't always do that. Sometimes it plays all the legal stuff and goes to the menu. So he has inconsistent behavior, which is never good. Overall though, it's a good player to watch discs in my bedroom.
