I bought this hat for a dress I'm going to wear to a 1950's ladies tea party! It's the right color and the material is stiffer and holds its shape very well. The springs were flattened by the packaging and had to be loosened. I didn't really like the bobby pin because I have short hair and without a headband it doesn't hold up. A headband is a great idea, it doesn't mess up the hair and can be worn on either side of the head depending on personal preference. The hat suits me well. The prices were affordable for me not just to buy 1 hat but I bought 5 hats and all my ladies will feel and look like they are in the 1950s at this party and they will have a great gift to cheer on you can look and hold .
