Review on πŸ”„ GE GXWH35F GXWH40L General Electric HHRING Replacement O-Ring, 1-Pack, Black by Angel Cortez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Do's and Don'ts How NOT to damage the o-ring for reuse!

First of all. Lubricate the o-ring and body grooves. Use all of the supplied lubricant as needed. The lubricant repels water. The o-ring will expand to a diameter that will not stay in the housing grooves IF there is insufficient lubrication, or rrrr if you STRONGLY tighten the housing and crush the o-ring. The o-ring will stop the leak if you simply press down firmly on the canister while tightening. IF flows. Relieve pressure and loosen and retighten canister slightly. IF YOU,,,, Tighten with a wrench,, put on your big boy pants and get ready to pull them out to take them off at the end of the filter's life. This is when I find that the pad is done and cannot be reused if it's compressed too much. I change every 3 months and put a sediment filter on the pre-filter before the main filter. Very hard well water in Ohio. I can usually reuse the o-ring 4-5 times. Initially, many years ago, I could only reuse an O-ring 1 or 2 times. DON'T GET DIRTY tightening it or you can ignore my advice, put on your big boy pants and rush forward man. Housing or keys can break. Sparky you can! Russ D
