Review on Permatex 84109 PermaPoxy Minute Multi Metal by Isaac Morales

My project involved gluing an aluminum plate to a machined aluminum circle to give the plate a blunt nose. I quickly sanded all the matte surfaces with 36 grit on a sander. After sanding, wipe down all surfaces with alcohol wipes. I just applied the epoxy to the round surface with an acid brush, cutting the bristles about halfway to make it stiffer, and then laid the slab on top. I used a 5 lb weight while curing. After about 24 hours I wanted to process the assembly on a milling machine. The incision started on a round bed and went into the slab. The cuts in the corners went as smooth as could be if they were a single piece. I had to make a long cut but I made a mistake with the depth. During a test run (spindle off, I usually have it on) the milling cutter fell about in the middle of a round workpiece and immediately jumped out again. I reanimated my workpiece and it didn't hurt. In fact, if it stuck more, I'd lose the tailor. So I consider it lucky. However, I noticed that all the epoxy stayed on the round bed where I applied it directly and nothing transferred to the panel. Going forward I think wetting both surfaces gives the best adhesion and this is common with some glues but is not mentioned in the instructions for that glue.
