Great for small business

I bought a Poycom SoundPoint SE-220 to replace an old SoundPoint phone (1988) that was damaged by lightning. After I plugged the new phone into my line, I called my father, who had worked at Telephone Systems for a long time. Even with his practiced ears, he had to ask me if I liked speakerphone or not. It made me smile at the money I spent on this phone. I speak on the speakerphone for about six hours every workday, sometimes 75 to 100 people attend conferences. The sound quality of these calls is very important for my daily work, which is why I chose the Ploycom phone. Audio from this phone's built-in mics works well anywhere in my office, and I have to be careful not to speak too loudly into the phone, which I used to do with my old SoundPoint. Making and receiving calls with this phone is very easy and I am very happy with my purchase. Cons I found - The quick dial menu system is still a little dated and therefore a bit awkward to use. However, the speed dial feature has been improved over the 1988 model I had previously, allowing caller ID entries to be stored directly in the speed dial. Also, this new version of the SoundPoint phone has excessive "dead time" after you press the flash button to answer another call. This may have a configuration option to fix flash delay, but the setup menu isn't intuitive enough to know whether or not this setting fixes dead time. It's also not clear in the book what all the parameter options actually do.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
