Solid but basic electomagnetic lock

I used this electromagnetic lock to make a childproof drawer in a bedside table, and it's worked great so far! I used a 9 volt battery and a push button momentary switch, and there haven't been any issues. One thing to keep in mind is that if the power supply is removed (i.e. the battery dies) then the lock stays in the "locked" position. I just wired it so that the battery is accessible when the drawer is closed.

Pros

The extra 2 wires I don't know or understand why they are there

Cons

The electronic lock may fail due to power outages or battery depletion
