1) For some reason I just thought it was better. Literally made out of popsicles and I was expecting it to be a little shinier like matte bamboo wood rather than matte cardboard. but I can easily spray satin on it and hopefully get a better bamboo effect. Calling it a "tree" is what annoys me. "Wood stampings" are much more appropriate and better inform customers of what they are buying because it doesn't look like it in the photos. 2) This lamp is supplied without a mounting plate. It's light enough that I think the attached power cords can support the weight of the lamp (since they're popsicle sticks), but the end that needs to sit on the ceiling isn't big enough to cover a hole that's already there . Due to the poor design, consisting of a piece of folded plastic on a string to prevent the mug from sliding down, this also causes it to sit crookedly. Luckily I had a mounting plate that could be used by another lamp he was replacing and I think I'll have to paint it white when I have time. Merchandise, shipping and company expenses. but it just doesn't cut it. This is a product that looks like a dollar store and I feel stupid buying it. I'm only giving two stars because it's good enough as a replacement until I can afford a replacement. It just sucks, I have to work on what the finished product should be. I hate leaving bad reviews but I have to be honest and every time I walk past this room I get a bitter taste in my mouth because I feel cheated. I know the economy isn't the best, but that's wrong here. Not worth $50. I could buy a temporary replacement from 5 Below or Fred's that would be of the same quality. You got me. Lesson learned.
