Review on 🍞 Stainless Steel Hamilton Beach 6-Slice Countertop Toaster Oven (31411) with Bake Pan by Sarah Green

UPDATED 12/21/18 After 5 months of daily use, the timer on the toaster stopped working. The toaster still works but I have to set a separate kitchen timer for 3 minutes to avoid catching the toast on fire and then turn it off manually. The product warranty is still 1 year, so I am contacting Hamilton Beach. It took them 2 emails to reply and all communication was slow. Their process requires me to cut the cable from the device, send them a photo of the cut cable, pay $11.49 to have a replacement shipped, and wait up to 15 business days to receive a replacement. Going three weeks without a toaster is pretty impractical, and paying the shipping cost for a product under warranty strikes me as bad business practice. I responded with a request to cancel the charge, which they refused, explaining that there was no charge for the replacement within the first 30 days of purchase. It doesn't really give me much confidence in the quality of their products if they're only willing to replace them for free for 30 days. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to apply for a replacement. While I understand they are trying to prevent fraud by having customers cut their cords, if I hadn't had a toaster for 3 weeks it would have made my already busy mornings even busier. I would have to go through the hassle of making toast in a conventional oven, which takes much longer. Overall I'm disappointed that the toaster didn't last very long without breaking and I'm not happy with the response from customer service. INITIAL REVIEW We bought this toaster to replace our failed Black & Decker toaster. This particular toaster always toasted unevenly and although it was a 6 slice toaster it barely fit into 4 regular slices of bread. A lot of the small appliances in our kitchen are made in Hamilton Beach, so I figured we'd probably have better luck with this toaster. I am very satisfied so far! It really fits 6 slices of normal bread. We tend to eat big sandwiches, and 4-5 slices fit easily. We have a large family and we definitely need a large capacity toaster. It toasts or bakes very evenly. The toaster looks very high quality.
