This part appears to have a stronger clip to hold it closed than the original part. (This is what breaks on the bearing part) I don't think this one will break, at least in the same place. It fits pretty well and fits pretty well. It's a little tricky getting the old one out without damaging the plastic clips on the overhead console that hold it in place. (Part similar to the "hinge"). Don't use tools or bend that plastic too much or the new one will have nothing to hold it. I used safety plastic lube, just gently pulled and worked. Still, I could see the old brittle plastic changing color. (out of stress) If I had to do it all over again I could take a hacksaw blade and try to cut out the old one somehow. You will need to remove the console and remove the screws holding the lights and switches in place to replace these. A YouTube video helped me with this. (One guy does this in his truck parking lot) Just don't damage those plastic tabs and you've got a solid sunglass holder that'll last.
