Good for deterring children but not for stealing when quickly smashed and grabbed

Yes, if you're looking for a safe place to store things this is an idea, but to fully protect your belongings from theft, this little box can't withstand a quick hit and grab. The lock body is plastic, there is too much space between the door and the frame. A screwdriver can easily be inserted in between to pry open. But for those who have kids it's good but I was looking for a place to store valuables. I'll buy some thicker safe thin sheet metal that won't stop someone from taking a look until the bolts snap through quickly from the back and bottom. .
