I often wonder about reviews of mediocre products, the camera market like everything else should include cameras for people who don't have a lot of money or just don't want to spend it on something that will sit in a desk drawer for months. This is one of those articles. The camera takes good all-purpose shots. The automatic functions are good. Whether you're shooting at a birthday party, at the beach, or at your kids' soccer game, this works great. Not everyone needs to shell out $4 or $500 for a camera. In fact, many people cannot afford it. Fun. If you get a bad one send it back, it's the same thing with electronics, tv's and computers all the time, I've had to send them back too. My camera was fine. If you like night photography I recommend the Nikon P310, it's cheaper than many others that take good night photos for just under $300 and for that money you get a lot of bang for your buck. Cameras that take good pictures at night are more expensive, they have an F2.0 lens or better, which is expensive. 3-700 for one of these. If, like me, most of your photos are taken during the day, then save your money and buy something like this, you don't need to spend a lot of money just to have fun. That's it. Great cheap camera. My only real complaint. You cannot charge the battery with a USB cable, you must use a wall charger. A real agony for me, but most don't care. You can get a car charger and an extra battery for less than $20.
