Review on πŸ”” Coghlan's Function Whistle: A Reliable and Versatile Outdoor Survival Companion by Brad Schaefer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing for the price

I have had two of these whistles since 2015 and both have worked great. The use was moderate, taken on hikes and thrown in the backpack in an emergency. It's pretty durable. The whistle is quite loud, but it takes effort. Light bumps do not cause noise. The Storm Whistle is much more effective and doesn't clog with water. The compass is fairly accurate, I've compared it to the Suunto compass I use for maps and it's accurate, it's just smaller so harder to read and lacks bearings. The thermometer works and ranges from 120F to -20F, but it's quite small so detailed readings can be difficult. But it works for general use. Finally, a small magnifying glass is fine, I don't find it all that useful. I tried using it as a magnifying glass to start a fire but didn't have much luck with it. Maybe my review doesn't sound too encouraging, but like I said, the cost, compactness, and sturdiness make it very useful and easy to use. everywhere or have several. I have certainly used it on many occasions.
