I bought these after moving to a new house and because our bedroom is on the opposite side of the house from our kids. I wanted to be able to hear if anyone was entering or exiting the porch at night. This little device was perfect for the job. I didn't have to screw it into the door or frame. You just need to clean the surface as recommended and use the adhesive backing. I like that there are different settings for notifications. You can set it to "doorbell/open door", turn it off and put it in alarm mode. When you change a setting, the device will beep to confirm. The only thing I would change is the inability to adjust the open door volume and confirmation tones. I appreciate the alarm being loud, but other alarms are SO LOUD. I don't turn on the "door open" alarm during the day because it's too loud and I always wince when I have to set my alarm at night (fingers crossed, little ones won't be woken up by it). Overall I'm very happy for the price, ease of installation and basic functionality.
