Just the amount of light you need.

Placed in two bathrooms on the second floor. One is in the corridor, so let's set the light to maximum so that it also helps us see when we're walking down the corridor. The other one is in our bedroom and we leave the door open so we put it on the second step so it doesn't disturb our sleep. I love them very much and recommend them.
