Outperforms PWM in generators and portable power supplies

After taking the time to explore multi-panel, multi-controller solar charging, try not to neglect this controller just because it has a small, non-backlit display Has. Always connect the battery to the controller first and then to the solar panel. I used this mppt to replace a good PWM controller. It's much better loaded. When it's dark outside the 12.7V battery is perfect, this is a marine battery. I haven't changed any settings, but I wanted to change the battery type to flooded instead of the default sealed. But already it's apparent that it's rushing very discreetly into the sunset on a panel pointing straight up at the motorhome. I run it in the desert and it has seen 106 degrees with no problem. The instructions say to mount it indoors, but I raised it on the north side in the battery compartment, 6 inches horizontally, just propping it up at each end, so plenty of clearance. It doesn't have a fan inside like the cheaper PWM controller I removed. Battery charging is monitored indoors on a display that I've been watching for years. As such, this controller seems to perform better with the load on or off, and definitely more charge hours in low light. I use panels on other setups. 20w, 60w(2), 100w and the 200w panel this MPPT is connected to. Arrived on time, well packaged, no defects. Thanks very much!
