Found out I need an external microphone adapter for my MacBook Air to use for distance learning. I bought this and was very disappointed that it didn't work when I plugged the mic into the mic jack. I was about to return it but something told me to plug it into the headphone jack and it worked! I don't know if the wiring is reversed or if the connectors are just mislabeled. But so far it's working fine.
