I received this card to replace an old USB sound card for my HyperX Cloud II headset when it finally gave up the ghost. At first I was extremely disappointed with the HORRIBLE sound quality; the mids were over the Empire State Building and it was like listening to music with a tin can and a runny nose. The 7.1 surround button didn't do anything either. It turns out that when connected, two sound devices are created: HyperX Amp Chat and HyperX Amp Game. By default, HyperX Amp Chat was set as the primary audio device. I guess it sounded awful because it's meant for the human voice. I switched the sound device to HyperX Amp Game and got the sound I was hoping for. Also, the 7.1 button finally worked. The sound quality is good, you just need to choose the right output device.
