I bought this for PS4 as a cheaper solution to getting a new headset that allowed me to separate game and chat volume. I should have read the description more carefully as chat volume mixing is NOT a feature of this product. This will increase the microphone volume for others, but for you, all you can do is mute your microphone and change the game volume. Not visible in the pictures but this adapter has a single TRRS headphone jack, no separate headphone/microphone jacks. You need a headphone/microphone splitter cable (stereo TRS+TRS to TRRS) to connect separate devices to this adapter. Most audio issues I've heard of are related to their computer's audio settings, NOT driver features. I can't comment on how well the headphones mimic 7.1, but there is a definite improvement in overall sound quality between plugging my headset into the 3.5mm jack and using this driver (plus the extra 6ft cable - that's noise!).
