Review on Infrared Night Vision IR Camera for Raspberry Pi 4, Pi 3b+ Video Webcam with Case - Perfect for 3D Printer Enthusiasts by Alex Taylor

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Working - only night mode Resolution HD

I use this camera for Oktoprint. The night quality is excellent. When the light is on everything is displayed close to greyscale and I believe it is permanently in night mode. I would give 2 stars if I knew more about whether Octoprint is the reason for the IR not turning off in daylight. I will give the camera the benefit of the doubt in this case. The camera also comes with 3 cables. I didn't see it in the description so I bought a 3.3ft cable which I don't need. (Not a big deal but would be nice to know) - I'm guessing 1x 6in, 1x 12in and 1x 3ft - Update ---- After using this camera for a few days I noticed that I keep getting notifications that there is a degraded voltage. This leads to CPU throttling. Since I'm using it for 3D printing, it also causes my print jobs to lag and the job to fail. I just removed 1 infrared LED to see if that helps with power consumption. If that doesn't help, I'll send it back. and updating this review. ------ Update ---- I bought a 3.5 amp micro USB charger and haven't had any problems since. Using it with 1 LED and "night mode" still works (always and at night, just fine)
