Review on 🐠 Garmin 010-01550-00 Striker 4 GPS Fishfinder: Chirp Transducer and 3.5" Display by Brandon Henry

This is an excellent fish finder and GPS system that I would highly recommend to travelers. I recently used it for the first time on a 10 mile canoe trip and am very happy with its performance. I was able to plot my course on a paper map to get the coordinates for each leg, and then add all the waypoint coordinates to the device the night before creating the route. The next day on the water, a GPS device recorded where I was, how long it would take to get to the next waypoint, and how long it would take to reach my final destination. He also informed us about our speed, which is very important when planning a trip. I have two boats that I use, one is a rowing boat for fishing where I installed the sensor on the electric motor propeller and a canoe where I installed the sensor in the hull. with a foam mounting element. In both cases the sonar worked well and I like that I can switch devices between them. Note that I use velcro to allow the unit to be swapped between boats, but it's not hard at all to install permanently. The base is very good and you can adjust it to face any direction. We got caught in the rain during our trip and the Garmin had no problem with the rain. He endured it very well. If you just want sonar for local lakes and don't want to travel in your own boat and don't need to use waypoints, this is probably overkill. But if you are looking for a great GPS and fish finder in one device, this is a fantastic device and I would highly recommend it. A small note on my setup: I built a battery pack to power my charger, but I know good little battery packs exist. ready-made boxes that can be sturdier and more compact than the ones I've built. You need to deal with the power options and be able to connect the device to your chosen power source. I love this flexibility.
