The metal surface is a bit rough and unfinished. L-shaped metal, not a solid four-sided leg. Couldn't find it in the picture in the line. As I expected, it had a sheet metal finish rather than a shiny satin nickel finish. Robust with beveled top mirror. I almost sent it back but it was the perfect size for what I needed.
