Review on Black Lutron Maestro MA-L3T251-BL 300-Watt Single-Pole Digital Dimmer And Timer Switch For Incandescent And Halogen Bulbs by Joshua Ngo

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Old connections and dual function hookup

First I'll say that I wasn't paying attention and didn't realize this doesn't work on LEDs. I bought this to run a bathroom fan and light separately. It ran the fan fine but the LED didn't turn off (makes sense; no neutral hookup). If it didn't have the LED light on the fan it would have been fine. I tried to unhook the light to just run the fan and it wouldn't work at all. The fact that I couldn't unhook the light and still run the fan is honestly pretty ridiculous. For connecting the wires it has old style hookups; the crappy stab-ins or hooking the wire around the screws. I sure hope this is a really old design because anything new that's worth the money uses the straight wire clamp in design.Low rating due to requiring both functions to be hooked up, and old hook-on-screw connections.

Pros
  • ‎Lutron
Cons
  • May not be as aesthetically pleasing as other switches
