Thanks to the dowel tool with offset center line system, you no longer need to create templates for every width or tree. It's as simple as just placing the template on the edge of the tree and making sure each end of the template is snug against the tree, and bingo you have the exact center to drill a hole with the template! But more importantly, with this product you have three (3) different variable depth drill bits for different applications and dowel diameters. Or use your own bits with the bit depth guides found on existing bits. Also, you can adjust the wood edge guides to four (4) different settings to save time (that doesn't mean there are only 4 widths - it means it saves time on centering - like a crescent wrench). Dowels to get you started! The wood edge guides have rollers that allow you to easily slide the wood edge up and down to drill center holes without damaging the wood or removing the center jig from the wood. These are fantastic tools that save SO much time and effort. Finding and drilling perfectly aligned holes takes seconds, not minutes. No "measure twice, drill once"! Simply place the ends of the template against the edge of the wood and drill through. READY! I cannot recommend this product enough. A well-designed device is worth every penny and more!
