The clamping mechanism is indistinguishable from the clamp on the original fins. The previous all-purpose straps I had had fallen off the fins in heavy surf. They cannot detach at all when the strap is deployed and are unlikely to fall off when not deployed. The knob on the side of the fins will only fit the large hole if you rotate the clip to align the small notch. The button cannot return when the body is rotated to a different angle. Then pull that body back and the small hole snaps onto the button on the side of the fins. The protrusion on the strap clip prevents the button from falling out of the small hole after attaching the strap as shown. This is a very good mechanism, much better than the usual straps that close with a button and hope to stay in place. Fits great on my Oceanic Viper Pro fins. The photo should tell you if it works well with your fins.
