I have noticed a slight "hum" which is not present in the stock fan but is actually so faint that it is unnoticeable when the truck engine is running . The fan performance is very good, so no problem. I installed it yesterday, so I can't comment on reliability. If I encounter a premature crash I will update this post. If you don't see an update, assume it's still working as expected. The only problem I had was with the installation, which has nothing to do with the quality of the product. I think Eddie Bauer's model should have extra insulation in the bottom because I couldn't get the old fan out no matter how hard I pulled. The videos on You Tube were very helpful but we had no problem getting the old fan out. I think if you have a shop doing repairs they will remove the entire dash to get to the fan. I can imagine the job costing $500-1000. My solution was simple: I cut through the floor insulation under the engine with a utility knife. After installing the new motor, I put the cut piece back and then folded the rug back over to where it was before. I doubt the workshop will cut through the floor insulation as it is quite damaged but everything works fine and the insulation under the carpet is still not visible.
