I bought a stainless steel replacement pot from Amazon and my pressure cooker (PPCXL) no longer built up the right pressure. I bought this pad and it solved my problems. Works better than the original gasket that came with the pressure cooker. It seems more durable and can be attached to the inner lid in any way you like. This means you don't have to remember which side is up and which is down.
