The funnel holds fuel even if the fuel is clean. Depending on how the filter is made, there will be a solid lip under the strainer that will hold the fuel. This means that every time you filter, half a glass of fuel remains in the filter. The most obvious thing to do is to put it back in the original container. When I attempt this, the shape of the top of the funnel inevitably results in spilled fuel. I also bought a larger block thinking it would provide better flow.
