Otterbox Protection vs Pelican Shield

I bought this case after purchasing an Otterbox Protection and decided to do a comparison between the two because they are probably the best known brands in terms of durability and strength are. Here comes (and they are all from 5 points). Protection. Otterbox-4.5. Excellent case with hard case and rubber coating. I also liked the padding in the hard case. 0.5 subtracted for the screen because of the lip and the camera is pretty flat. Pelican-4. Good case but no rubber seal either outside or inside the plastic case. The lips on the screen and the camera are deeper than the truth. Function-Otterbox-5. Every button is easy to reach. Pelican-3. The bottom loading slot is very difficult to reach as it is very narrow and the clasp has a small lip. Even if you force the clasp open all the way, you'll still have trouble with the charger as the lip is still blocked. Access. Not a problem if you're charging wirelessly, but if you're not, that's a deal breaker in itself. Looks like otterbox-3. The usual and simple look, the color combinations are a bit ugly. Pelican-5. Looks very nice clean and tactful.Grip-otterbox-4. The rubber surface is good for grip but bad for pockets. Pelican-4. Smooth plastic handle that is good for pockets but not good for grip. Bottom line: Both cases have their pros and cons, but both feel extremely durable. If you're an outdoor enthusiast or about to turn off your phone for a major heartbreak, then get an otter. But if you want a case with above-average ruggedness and something that looks attractive, then go for the Pelican. **But if you're planning on using the bottom lanyard at all, skip this case and use an otter.**

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs
