Great phone but user interface isn't that great. I think this is mainly a phone for techies who want a budget phone. If you're not comfortable flashing new firmware, I'd probably advise getting a budget Pixel instead. Personally, I'm sticking with MIUI a little longer because I don't want to void my warranty, but I've had to tweak a lot of things in the settings to make it work more the way I like it. In any case, the battery is great. I miss AMOLED, but 120Hz makes up for it. And my reception is great too, although I see reviews saying they have poor reception, I'm with T-Mobile.
