Review on Powerful 12 Volt DC Water System Pump: πŸ’§ Flojet 03526-144A – 2.9 GPM, 50 PSI Triplex Diaphragm Pump by Chris Castro

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Noisy but good pumping - not continuous use

The pump performed excellent but be aware it is not continuous use - a cycle time of 1.5 hours is what you expect can reach before she turns off. off with thermal limit. It's also REALLY loud, much louder than the Seaflo 55 I replaced it with. Application: pump for portable propane gas heater, water recycling from hot water tank at point of use. Hooking up the pump was easy, and because this setup had minimal flow restriction, 3/8-1/2 ID (steel braid) hose allowed the pump to maintain a constant pressure and flow rate in psi. A "bypass" from a fresh water source (garden hose) is also connected to the inlet. However, it's very noisy and there's not enough runtime to achieve a 25Β°F temperature rise from a 50-gallon heater. The good news is that the standard 12V switching adapter rated at 7A worked reasonably well as the flow rate/PSI is current. The adapter was never "too hot" other than when operating the original component (the projector) it was connected to. Returned due to noise and duty cycle restrictions. When running without a time limit, the pump may turn on again after the temperature limit expires, but you may need to consider the cool down time, etc. when used for circulation.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
