Buying them was a good decision. I've had it for a year now, used it in the desert (Jordan), snow and rain (Boston) and I'm completely satisfied. On a trip to Jordan we did an extended day hike over sandy/mountainous terrain in hot weather and I didn't get blisters and had great traction on rocks and unstable terrain. The most important thing for me was keeping water out, which they do very well. . They are very comfortable and breathe well. Last winter my sturdy hiking boots finally broke and they were a good substitute in snow storms until I decided what to do next with winter boots. Since they are great for winter and summer and serve great as water protection, I can absolutely recommend them. Edit: I had to buy different laces because eyelets damage the laces a lot. I bought Iron Laces and that solved the problem.
